National Sports Day Celebration
Description: St. Joseph's Girls' College celebrated,National Sports Day with great enthusiasm and excitement. The event, themed "GAME ON!", brought together students, teachers, and non-teaching staff for a day of fun, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. The inclusion of flood victims in the celebration added a heart warming dimension to the event. The manager and the principal were welcomed with the badges. After invoking God's blessings through prayer, the Manager, the Principal & the PTI lighted the lamp followed by the pledge by the sports captain Vaibhavi. The manager Rev. Fr. Valerian D'Souza declared the event open. Students from Classes VI to XII participated in various sports events, including basketball knockout matches, tug-of-war, and slow cycling races. The teaching staff showcased their skills in musical chairs, while non-teaching staff participated in a fast walking race. The Tug-of-War matches between different classes (IX vs X, XI vs XII) and the Teachers vs Students match added a competitive edge to the event. Class IX defeated their seniors whereas classes XI & XII ended with a tie. In teachers vs students tug of war match, the students gave a tough competition to their teachers and emerged as a winning team. The flood victims also participated in tug of war & races showcasing their resilience and spirit. Prizes were distributed to the winners by the manager and the principal. The National Sports Day celebration aimed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy competition among students and staff. It provided a platform for participants to showcase their skills, build confidence, and develop a sense of sportsmanship. The National Sports Day celebration was a resounding success, fostering a sense of community and school spirit. The flood victims participation in the event fostered a sense of community support and inclusivity.
