Description: St. Joseph’s Girls’ College celebrated its Annual Function- Cherubfest on Thursday 23rd November .The chief guest was the Bishop of the Allahabad Diocese Most Rev. Louis Mascarenhas and Mrs. Pushpa Srivastava, a former international hockey player was the Guest of Honour. The school band alongwith the school cabinet escorted the esteemed guests. The other guests present on the occassion were Rev. Fr. Thomas Kumar, Principal St. Joseph’s College, Rev. Fr. Vipin, Director, Nazreth Hospital, Rev. Fr. Eugene Mascarenhas, Sr. Shweta, Provincial Superior CJ Sisters and the former co-ordinator Mrs. Aparna Ranjan along with many priests and Sisters of various congregations. The programme began with the lamp Lighting followed by Sarva Dharma Prarthna and an energetic welcome dance. The theme of the Annual Function - STAR ( Stay together and Rejoice) was revealed with the entry of a lighted star on stage. Our talented girls showcased a variety of dances like Mime, Puppet and Qawwali. Different Festivals of India and eras of dance were also presented through enthusiastic dance forms. They also presented a skit on the web of virtual reality based on internet addiction and gave a message of spending time with our loved ones. A melodious group song and a poem depicting the school days of a student was also presented. School report displayed the activities and the events of this session. The attraction of the day was the dance performance presented by the visually impaired children from Divya Jyoti institution. All present were left spellbound by each and every performance .The confidence displayed by the children on the stage was praiseworthy. The chief Guest Most Rev. Louis Mascarenhas, was all praises for the show. He also appreciated the effective compering by the girls and said that it was flawless. The winners of CISCE Table Tennis, Cricket and Archery competitions were felicitated by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. The function was highly entertaining and applauded by each and everyone present there. The parents of the students looked very happy and satisfied. Vote of thanks was proposed by students of different items. The day ended with the National Anthem.
